I Had a Great Conversation with Peter Baron
Last week, I had the chance to sit down with Peter Baron on his MoonshotOS podcast to talk about what school marketing really looks like when it's done right.
If you've been reading this newsletter for a while, you know I'm not shy about calling out the gap between where most schools are with their marketing and where they need to be. Peter and I dug deep into why so many schools are still treating marketing like an afterthought, and what it actually takes to change that.
We covered everything from the inbound marketing framework that saved my enrollment numbers during the Great Recession to why your school's website probably isn't converting visitors the way it should. But honestly, some of my favorite moments were when we talked about the mindset shifts that need to happen before any tactics will work.
Here's the thing: I've been in your shoes. I've sat in those boardroom meetings where everyone's looking at you to solve the enrollment crisis with a magic marketing wand. I've felt the pressure, made the mistakes, and learned what actually moves the needle.
If you're tired of throwing marketing tactics at the wall and hoping something sticks, this conversation might be exactly what you need to hear.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and what resonated with you the most. Just reply to this email.
Thanks,
Brendan

I need to create a social media content calendar for the next [30 days]. I post on [Instagram] and [Facebook].
My organization is [Full School Name].
I will post [3 times] a week on both platforms.
I want to strike a balance of posts where some are [engaging and build community] and others [highlight student achievements and school announcements].
You will need to help me with this, as well as provide the full content calendar for both platforms.
First, you will ask me questions about my school and audience until you think you have enough information. Then, you will provide me with the calendar formatted in 2 tables, one for [Instagram] and one for [Facebook].
You will provide me with the text captions in one column, and a suggested image in the second.
