I'm not going to pretend to be cool about this. 😀

The Content Marketing Institute just published their annual list of 37 books every marketer should read in 2026, and "School Marketing the Right Way" made the cut.

This is the same list that includes books by Seth Godin, Ann Handley, and Andy Crestodina. Names I've learned from for years. And somehow my book is sitting right there alongside theirs.

When I saw the recommendations from Joeri Billast and Bernie Borges, I had to read them twice. Joeri wrote that it's "no fluff, no theory, just practical strategies you can implement immediately." Bernie said it "teaches educators modern marketing practices."

That's exactly what I hoped the book would be. Hearing it from people outside our industry means more than I can say.

I wrote this book because school marketers deserve resources built specifically for the work we do. Not adapted from corporate playbooks. Not theoretical frameworks that fall apart when you're a department of one with a budget to match.

If you've been on the fence about picking up a copy, this feels like a good nudge. And honestly, the whole list is worth browsing. There are some genuinely useful titles on there for anyone doing this work.
