The August Panic

It's a Tuesday in late July, 11 p.m. A mom is on the couch with her laptop balanced on her knees. The deposit cleared months ago. Her son is going to your school in five weeks.

She is googling what to wear first day private school.

Three tabs over, she's checking your calendar to figure out when drop-off actually is. She doesn't remember if there's a uniform on day one. She doesn't know if her son will know anyone. She is trying to picture August 28, and the picture is fuzzy, and the fuzziness is starting to feel like dread.
