In Google Analytics 4 (GA4), events are ways to measure interactions users are having with your website, like clicking a link, loading a page, or downloading a file. Events like these can give you additional insights into what users do when they visit your pages. The more you know about your users and their actions, the better you can optimize your website and its overall experience. In this post, we’ll also touch on event parameters, which are extra pieces of information that are tied to your events. For example, a certain event can be sent to your GA4 report with “page_referrer” or “page_location” parameters. The page_referrer would let you see the URL a user was previously on, and the page_location would let you know the URL of the page someone has viewed.
