Prologue
MarCom Professionals are like mushrooms...
I sent this last week but wanted to resend it to remind you of this important survey.
I often think that marketing and communications professionals at K12 schools are treated like mushrooms:
- They are kept in the "dark."
- They are fed "$#!t."
- And they still continue to flourish! In order to counteract the mushroom treatment, I created SchneiderB Media and the MarCom Society to help K12 marketing and communications professionals flourish and, ultimately, get a seat at the table.
One way to make this happen is to focus on the compensation of MarCom professionals, so I'm excited to announce the MarCom Salary Survey for 2023.
The survey is now open and will close in early February. We will then quickly prepare the results to share with the community so that you can use them to benchmark your personal compensation for the 2023-2024 school year.
I would encourage you to complete the survey using your compensation from the 2022-2023 school year, and then please share the survey with colleagues in the MarCom space.
Thanks,
Brendan

How Can We Make This Right?
It was chaotic in the Emerald Aisle at the Fort Lauderdale airport. I found myself in a mad dash for a car or as mad as one can be while dragging rolling luggage, a laptop bag, and a now-out-of-season down-filled jacket. By the time I surveyed the options, the pickings were slim. The pickup trucks were just not me, leaving me with a Toyota Highlander. It was too big for what I needed, but I had school leaders to visit, and time was a-wasting. I hoisted the bags into the back seat and headed to my first meeting.
