ProloguePrologue

Happy Monday!

As the summer melts away and the school year quickly approaches, I wanted to share a book and a tool I highly recommend to help get organized and get more done this school year.

The book is Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity by David Allen, and it has literally changed my life.

I can't remember when I first read the book and implemented the Getting Things Done (GTD for short) methodology, but I know I have followed it for years. GTD is a time management system designed to help you achieve stress-free productivity. GTD involves five key steps: capturing all tasks and ideas, clarifying what each item means, organizing tasks into categories, reflecting on the system regularly, and engaging in appropriate actions. By following this approach, you can increase efficiency, reduce stress, and maintain focus on your most important objectives.

The other half of my system involves using the software tool Todoist.

Like the GTD system, I've been using Todoist for years. It was the first tool that was flexible enough to allow me to use the GTD system and make subtle tweaks for how I worked. Seriously, I can't recommend it enough. Oh, and did I mention that they have a free version for you to get started?? 😀

If you are looking for a new system to be more productive, I hope you'll check out this book and tool.

Thanks,
Brendan
